O Project Anima released a teaser trailer for the adaptation anime from the novel Mahō Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onna no Ko no Hanashi (The Story of the Girl Who Couldn’t Become a Wizard) by Yuzuki Akasaka, which premieres in October 2024.
The animation is by the JC Staff studio, directed by Masato Matsune (Chaos Dragon, Chronos Ruler) under the supervision of Takashi Watanabe (Rave Master). While the script is written by Hiroko Kanasugi (Drugstore in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist, First Love Monster).

Kurumi Mirai, freshman at Letran Magic and Magecraft School, leads in grades in the training of the best “wizards” in the International Alliance of Mages. However, despite her academic success, she did not enter the “Magic Group” class during the high school selection exam. In the next class, Kurumi comes across students who are taking the test to become full-fledged wizards, including a student she admires. Now, Kurumi challenges herself to adapt and grow despite not being selected, even with her unlimited intellect. Also, what are the goals of top-tier sorceress Minami Suzuki, Kurumi’s new teacher?
