With this trailer the TV Asahi announced that the second season of the anime series adaptation of the manga The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) by Norio Sakurai will premiere on January 7, 2024. In the video we can hear the opening theme “Boku wa…” (I…) by the Atarayo and the ending theme “Koishiteru Jibun sura Aiserunda” (I Can Even Love Myself Even When I’m in Love) by Kohana Lam.
The animation is from Shinei Animation (Takagi-san the Master of Teasing, Elegant Yokai Apartment Life, Doraemon), directed by Hiroaki Akagi (Teasing Master Takagi-san, Those Snow White Notes), the script is by Jukki Hanada (Love Live! Sunshine!!, Sound! Euphonium, Steins;Gate) and the character design is by Masato Katsumata (The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬, The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie). Music is the responsibility of kensuke ushio (Liz and the Blue Bird, Chainsaw Man, A Silent Voice).
The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) began publication in Weekly Shōnen Champion in March 2018.
The work has 2.3 million copies in circulation and won first place in the “Manga that they liked to see animated” survey carried out during the Anime Japan 2021.
Synopsis of The Dangers in My Heart
Ichikawa Kyotaro, a boy on the lowest rung of his school’s social ladder, secretly believes he is the tortured protagonist of some psychological thriller. He spends his days dreaming of ways to disrupt the peaceful lives of his classmates and pining for Anna Yamada, the class idol. But Kyotaro isn’t nearly the troubled teenager he pretends to be… and it turns out that Anna is a little strange!
