Fourteen months after the disappearance of her fiancé, Roald Hodges, a member of the National Geographic Society in the 1920s, on an expedition to Lapland, Emma believes he is still alive. Before leaving, Roald gave Emma a mysterious envelope with a letter, which she should only read in case something tragic happens to her. Refusing this possibility, Emma decides to leave her comfortable life in England to go look for him in Lapland. During the trip, the young woman will end up losing the certainties she had. From his real name Benoît Drousie, Zidrou He is one of the most prolific and talented French-Belgian screenwriters of recent decades. Born in 1962 in Belgium, Zidrou studied primary teaching and worked as a teacher for six years. His first published screenplay appeared in the 1991 Christmas issue of the magazine Spired, and from there, he quickly became a mainstay of the magazine, writing stories for literally dozens of designers. But his immense production for the magazine Spirou and for Éditions Dupuis (among which we highlight The beast, with the artist Frank Pé, already published in our country by A Seita) did not prevent him from also collaborating with Éditions du Lombard, where he created the series with Godi Élève Ducobu, which was one of its biggest commercial successes, in addition to reviving for a new generation of readers, classic series such as Ric Hochet It is Clifton. Edith Grattery was born in Marseille in 1960, graduating in Decorative Arts. With a career divided between comics and children’s illustration, Edith had her first major success with the series Basil et Victoria, started in 1990, with an argument by Yann. That series, starring two London kids in Victorian times, won the Alph’art Prize in Angoulême in 1993, and was adapted into animation. This first collaboration with Zidrou allows her to once again explore different scenarios of the British Empire, following in the footsteps of Emma Wildford, a strong and determined young woman in a society where women have no voice.
