Theory: What if Sanji fought Lucci in One Piece?

Lucci was the main enemy in the Enies Lobby arc. At that time Luffy was able to beat him, but with great difficulty.

Now Luffy can beat Lucci with relative ease. Then Zoro did take a long time to defeat Lucci, but in the end Zoro was completely unharmed and didn’t even need to put on his headband to confirm he was serious.

What if Sanji fought Lucci? This is my theory!

1. One thing I think: Sanji’s fight against Lucci will still be long

I think Sanji and Zoro’s abilities are actually equal, even though Zoro is superior in terms of destructive power (because he has Haoshoku Haki and can layer it onto attacks) while Sanji is superior in mobility and toughness (because Sanji’s body has an exoskeleton and he can recover from problems such as broken bones).

With that in mind, if Sanji fought Lucci, their fight would likely take a long time.

Especially since the plan in Egghead was to escape as soon as possible.

If Sanji wants to run away, can Lucci catch up with him?

Lucci is indeed very fast, but I suspect that Sanji, with his speed and ability to move in the air, could be even faster than Lucci.

3. Sanji’s strength that can make Lucci troublesome: Kenbunshoku Haki, its speed, mobility, and endurance

Even though the fight will take a long time, if Sanji decides to go all out with Lucci I’m sure he will win.

-Even if Lucci could hit Sanji, Sanji’s exoskeleton and ability to recover would be able to protect him.

4. But there is a possibility that if Sanji defeats Lucci, then Lucci will not be down for too long

As Awakened ZoanLucci was able to recover relatively quickly from his injuries.

The proof is, he was beaten Gear 5 Luffy and got up again not long after.

Sanji is a punch type fighter, relying on his feet. If Sanji dropped Lucci, even if Sanji used it Ifrit Jambe I think Lucci will be able to push himself relatively quickly.

How is it different from Zoro?

See Lucci’s situation in chapter 1111. He suffers from a gaping scar. He could force himself not to fall, but he couldn’t even move much. When Jinbe took Zoro away, he couldn’t catch up with them.

This sword wound will likely hamper Lucci longer than wounds from punches and kicks. Especially because the wound was open and blood was dripping.

5. Conclusion?

My conclusion is, if Sanji fights Lucci in One Piece he will win.

The way he wins may be different from Zoro’s. He will use his agility and speed to surpass Lucci, then beat Lucci with Ifrit Jambe so that the CP0 agent falls.

Even so, I suspect that if Sanji defeated Lucci, Lucci would actually rise faster.

Because previously Lucci had also been beaten Gear 5 Luffy, however, was still able to get up. So Awakened Zoan like Lucci, he might be able to recover more quickly from a crushing attack.

When he lost to Zoro, the slash wounds Lucci suffered seemed to hamper him more than when he suffered attacks Gear 5 which is a blow.

So it would be ideal for Lucci to lose to Zoro, even though Sanji can also beat Lucci.
