Theory: Why Did Ace Lose to Blackbeard in One Piece?

Teori: Kenapa Ace Kalah dari Kurohige di One Piece?

Ace’s defeat by Marshall D. Teach aka Blackbeard caused a major impact. Ace was then about to be executed by the Navy, causing the Marineford war which resulted in the deaths of Whitebeard and Ace.

Teach himself managed to take advantage of his victory over Ace to become Shichibukaiand then get a strong ally from Impel Down and finally get the power Gura Gura from the dead Whitebeard.

Why did Ace lose to Blackbeard? One Piece? This is my theory!

1. The fight between Teach and Ace is shown

You can read about Ace’s fight against Kurohige in chapters 440 to 441.

In that duel, Ace actually managed to land a few hits on Teach. Teach also felt the impact greatly, considering the side effects of the Fruit. Yami Yami which made Teach’s pain worse than what a normal person would suffer.

However, Kurohige was able to remove Ace’s power by touching his former commander, thanks to the power of the Fruit. Yami Yami.

Teach himself did not lose even though he had received several attacks from Ace.

In the end, towards the end of chapter 441 we are shown Ace kneeling before Teach.

Teach offered Ace to join, but Ace refused. Ace then got up and mobilized Dai Enkai: Entei.

The powers of fire and darkness clash, and chapter 441 ends with Ace’s hat shown falling to the ground.

There is a narrative that the duel on Banaro Island later became the trigger for a very big incident that occurred in the future.

2. Combination Yami Yami no Mi and Teach’s toughness makes him very difficult to beat.

Before he obtained the Fruit Gura Gura Even defeating Teach is not easy.

His body has abnormal toughness. Even though Teach suffers more pain than a normal human, Ace’s attacks are unable to defeat him.

Not only that, he can also remove Ace’s abilities thanks to the Fruit. Yami Yami. This allowed Teach to land some powerful blows on Ace.

In the end, as we can see in chapter 441, even though Ace was able to put up a fight, he ended up falling to his knees while Teach was still standing.

3. Ace seems unprepared to face Teach’s powers.

From what I saw in chapter 441, Ace was not ready to face Teach’s power.

He was especially shocked when he realized the Fruit Yami Yami remove power Logic-his.

Even though Ace and Teach were once in Whitebeard’s group together, I also suspect that Ace didn’t realize how powerful Teach was. Especially since Teach always seemed to hide his strength.

If only Ace had known about Teach’s abilities, maybe he would have prepared himself better.

4. There are signs that Ace cannot flow Haoshoku Haki to the attack

Ace has Haoshoku Hakibut from what we see in One Piece Novel A both in manga One Pieceit seems he can’t flow Rights this is to attack.

Why is that important? Because to face someone as tough as Kurohige, you might need a multi-layered attack. Haoshoku Haki. If not, Kurohige will continue to rise. Ace’s fire attacks are clearly not enough to take down Teach.

5. Conclusion? Ace seemed to have no chance of winning from the start.

So Ace came alone to fight Teach. There are signs that he didn’t know and didn’t anticipate, the power of the Fruit. Yami Yami. Even though they both served in Whitebeard’s group, Ace might not have known that Teach’s toughness was abnormal.

Ace also doesn’t seem to have an alternative like a layered attack. Haoshoku Haki to attack Teach.

With a situation like this, I think from the start Ace couldn’t win against Kurohige.

Well that’s the theory of why Ace lost to Kurohige. One Piece.
