There are demons in Kimetsu no Yaiba who really have no heart, like Muzan the big boss. But there are also some demons whose life stories after annoying you turn out to be sad.
Who are these magical demons? These are the demons Kimetsu no Yaiba whose death makes me sad! Be careful, those who don’t read the manga version may get hit spoilers!
1. Devil’s Hand
This Arm Demon initially felt really evil. He was the one who killed Makomo and Sabito, two spirits who helped Tanjiro train! So the death of the Arm Demon should have been satisfying.
But the demon’s death was presented sadly. The demon’s request to have his hand held by Tanjiro was also touching.
2. Susamaru
For Susamaru, what made her death sad wasn’t that she gave a flashback or anything. It was that she died in an incredibly brutal way: for uttering Muzan’s name, she was destroyed.
Worse, Susamaru’s childish voice was still heard even though her body was destroyed. Although it looked almost nothing left, it seemed that this demon only truly died after being burned by the sun. In addition, Tanjiro realized that Muzan was only using Susamaru. Susamaru wasn’t even really one of the 12 Kizuki.
3. Kyogai
With his drumming skills, Kyogai was once a tough challenge for Tanjiro. But seeing Tanjiro appreciate his work, and also hearing Tanjiro acknowledge his strength Blood Demon Art his, Kyogai died in emotion. Tanjiro may not be able to forgive Kyogai, but at least he can still comfort this demon.
4. Mother spider
This Spider Mother had previously cruelly crushed Tanjiro’s hopes. Previously, Tanjiro and Inosuke were able to secure the demon slayers controlled by the Spider Mother. But this mother easily snapped the necks of the slayers.
But moments before Tanjiro beheaded, it was revealed that the mother was a suffering figure. Despite her role as a mother, she was often insulted and abused by the other members of the spider family. She even decided to just accept her death. Feeling that, Tanjiro decided to execute his mother with the gentlest technique of Water Breathing.
5. Rui
Rui has successfully made Nezuko and Tanjiro bleed. Considering he has routinely abused his family and also killed many humans, Rui seems unforgivable.
It is then revealed that Rui was once a sickly child, who was turned into a demon. Rui remembers his parents trying to kill him, but his parents actually intended to commit suicide if they managed to kill their son who had become a demon.
Rui had met the spirits of his father and mother after they died. Sadly, it seemed that the father and mother were willing to accompany their child to burn in hell.
6. Gyutaro
Gyutaro and Daki may seem very dangerous and annoying at first. They die annoyingly, by insulting each other.
But then we see a flashback of Gyutaro and Daki’s sad life. Gyutaro then tried to ask Daki to leave him, but Daki followed her brother to hell.
Seeing that Gyutaro could ask Daki not to follow him, it seems that Daki who became a devil at the age of 13 is still considered innocent and can go to heaven. So it’s quite sad to see Daki decide to follow Gyutaro.
7. Akaza
Akaza was once the most hated villain by fans for killing Kyojuro Rengoku, who was a favorite. Then, in the battle against Giyu and Tanjiro, his incredibly tragic past was revealed. Akaza wanted to continue to become strong, but the person who motivated him to strengthen himself (his teacher and also his future wife) had long since died.
Akaza himself was basically a good person when he was still human. Once he fully remembered his past, Akaza who almost became like Muzan (a demon who can live on even if his head is cut off) instead helped kill himself.
8. Kokushibo
For hundreds of years, Kokushibo was Muzan’s strongest subordinate. He even managed to kill two renowned demon slayers in his final battle. But when he died, Kokushibo realized that in the end everything he did in his life was in vain.
What makes it even sadder? Rui’s parents and Akaza’s teacher and future wife still want to accompany the demons to burn in hell. You can see their projections appear in Rui and Akaza’s minds, before the visions seem to burn.
No one met Kokushibo at the end of his life. He truly died alone.
Those are the eight devils Kimetsu no Yaiba whose death makes you sad. Do you agree?
