The most recent edition of Young Champion revealed that the anime series adaptation of the manga Tōhai – Ura Route Mahjong Tōhairoku in Kōji Shinasaka will premiere in October 2024 (fall anime season).
3 additions to the cast were also revealed:
- Kohsuke Tanabe as Kei
- Shunsuke Takeuchi as Tōjima
- Fairouz Ai as Amina
The anime series will be titled Tōhai – Ura Rate Mahjong Tōhairokuthe animation is from EAST FISH STUDIOthe direction is Jun Hatorithe argument is Mariko Kunisawa and the character design is by Yūsuke Shirato. Music is the responsibility of Yuki Kishida.
Tōhai – Ura Route Mahjong Tōhairoku It began to be published in Young Champion in 2006 and ended in 2011 with 12 volumes. It inspired a live-action film in 2013.
The other works in the franchise include the manga Tōhai: Hitobashira-hen of 16 volumes, the manga Tōhai: Minagoroshi-hen of 10 volumes, the manga Haō Densetsu Lion of four volumes, the manga Haō Kessen Lion of five volumes and the manga Tōhai: Cold Girl the 6th volume of which will be released on January 18, 2024.
