The manga was serialized in Young Champion magazine from 2006 to 2011, and collected in 12 volumes. It also inspired a live-action film in 2013. The manga is part of a larger franchise that includes other spin-off and sequel manga, such as Tōhai: Hitobashira-hen, Tōhai: Minagoroshi-hen, Haō Densetsu Lion, Haō Kessen Lion, and Tōhai: Cold Girl.

The story follows Kei, a high school student who is a master of mahjong, a traditional Chinese game of tiles and strategy. He frequents an underground mahjong hall where he plays against dangerous opponents for money, women, and organs. He earns the nickname “K of Ice” for his cold and ruthless style of playing. He also has a secret: he keeps a girl in his house, who may be the key to his past.
