Sometimes anime seasons bring us coincidences that seem planned. I can’t think of any other examples right now, but I know it’s happened before, including last season.
Two extremely popular animes from the last season were Kimetsu no Yaiba with its 4th season and Mushoku Tensei II. What do these two animes have in common? Men who sacrificed themselves at the end of the seasons.
Toshiyuki Morikawa Voiced Two Fathers Who Sacrificed Themselves in the Same Season
It seems like a plot coincidence, but it turns out that the two men who sacrificed themselves have the same voice actor: Toshiyuki Morikawa.
Toshiyuki Morikawa voices Paul, the father of Rudeus, Norn, and Aisha in Mushoku Tensei. As we know, he ends up dying while protecting Rudeus from a Hydra attack in the Labyrinth Dungeon.
Morikawa also voices Kagaya Ubuyashiki, leader of the demon slayer squad in Kimetsu no Yaiba. In the last episode, he not only sacrifices himself, but also his entire family to harm Muzan, in an incredible scene animated by Ufotable.
Isn’t it amazing when these coincidences happen in animes from the same season? I myself hadn’t noticed that Paul and Ubuyashiki had the same voice actor until I discovered this information, because I find their voices so different.
