Trailer reveals Gods’ Games We Play anime debut in April 2024

With this trailer, the official website of the anime series adaptation of the novel Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru (God’s Game We Play or God is Hungry for Games) by Kei Sazane revealed that the premiere will take place in April 2024. The opening theme is “NewGame” by AliA (which you can hear in the trailer) and the ending theme is “I’m GAME!” per Hina Tachibana.

With animation by the studio Liden Films (BASTARD!!, The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Terra Formars, Hanebado!), directed by Tatsuya Shiraishi (direction of episodes of Overlord II, Overlord III), the story is the responsibility of NTLthe character design is by Yoshihiro Watanabe and the music was delivered to Pony Canyon.

Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru began to be released on January 25, 2021 with illustrations by Toiro Tomose and the story unfolds around supreme gods who have a lot of free time, so they create the definitive “intellectual game” entitled “Kamigami no Asobi”. Reche, a former goddess, declares that she will find the most skilled human of this era to bring with her to challenge the gods in this game. She chooses a young newcomer named Fey.

The novel inspired a manga adaptation by Kapiko Toriumi which began publishing in Monthly Comic Alive in August 2021.

Kei Sazane is the author of the novel Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjō, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen) with illustrations by To Nekonabe. The novel began to be released in May 2017 and the manga adaptation by Okama began to be released in May 2018. The work inspired an anime series adaptation in October 2020.
