Trailer reveals release date for Kimi ni Todoke 3

With this trailer the Netflix revealed that the third season of the anime adaptation of the manga Kimi no Todoke in Karuho Shiina will premiere on that streaming platform on August 1, 2024. In the video we can hear the opening theme “et cetera” by image.

This third season of Kimi no Todoke will be called Kimi ni Todoke – From Me to You Season 3 (Kimi ni Todoke 3rd Season).

With animation by the studio Production IG (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East), directed by Kenichi Matsuzawa (direction of episodes of The Prince of Tennis, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These), the script is by Tomoko Konparu (NANA, Nodame Cantabile, Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%) and the song was delivered to SENS Project (xxxHOLiC, My Love Story!!).

The cast is the same and they join:

  • Yuichi Nakamura as Ryū Sanada
  • Mamoru Miyano as Kento Miura

The manga of Kimi no Todoke ran in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret from 2006 to 2017 and has been compiled into 30 volumes. It won the Best Shoujo Manga award at the 32nd Kodansha Annual Manga Awards in 2018, and was adapted into a 38-episode anime series from 2009 to 2011 and a live-action film in 2010.

The manga had a total of 125 chapters. The second season of the series was adapted up to chapter 46 of the manga, so the anime still has about 79 chapters to adapt.

Synopsis of Kimi ni Todoke

The manga follows the story of Sawako Kuronuma, a shy girl with pale skin and long hair who is nicknamed Sadako by her classmates (the character from the horror film “Ring”), however after meeting Kazehaya and with the help of some classmates she will be able to completely change her life.
