With this trailer the Shochiku revealed that Gekijо̄-ban Nintama Rantaro Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyо̄ no Gunshi (Nintama Rantaro the Movie: The Dokutake Ninja Team’s Strongest Strategist), the first anime film of Nintama Rantarowill premiere on December 20, 2024. Below you can see a promotional image.
The anime film is based on the novel of the same name by Kazuhisa Sakaguchi from 2013, whose story revolves around Rantaro’s teacher, Hansuke Doi, who lost a battle against Sonnamon and Zatto Konnamon, and became a teacher at the Ninjutsu Academy.
With animation by the studio Ajia-do (Kemono Jihen), the direction is by Masaya Fujimori (Doraemon movies).
The cast includes the return of:
- Minami Takayama like Rantarō,
- Mayumi Tanaka like Kirimaru,
- Teiyū Ichiryūsai like Shinbei Fukutomi,
- Toshihiko Seki like Hansuke Doi.
The manga Rakudai Ninja Rantarō in Soubee Amako revolves around Rantarō, a ninja apprentice at an elite ninjutsu academy in historical Japan. As students, Rantarō and his fellow ninjas-in-training are called “Nintama” – a contraction of the words “ninja” and “tamago” (“egg”).
