We already knew that a second season was in production and at the “next dimensional idol project” concert it was revealed that UniteUp! two will premiere in January 2025 (winter anime season). The first season will begin airing again in October 2024.
With animation by the studio Cloverworks (The Promised Neverland, Wonder Egg Priority, Spy x Family), directed by Shin’ichirō Ushijima (I want to eat your pancreas), the script is by Rino Yamazaki (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform, Shadows House, Spy×Family) and the character design is by Majiro (22/7). Music is the responsibility of Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Haikyu!!).
In the description of UniteUp! we can read:
The story revolves around Akira Kiyose, who sings on a streaming website under the singer name “KIKUNOYU”. One day, the talent agency sMiLea Production hires him. sMiLea is an agency founded by legendary retired idol duo AneLa to train new and rising idols. Akira then forms an idol group with Banri Naoe and Chihiro Isuzugawa, who were also approached by the agency. His new group, Protostar, will debut alongside other new idol groups under sMiLea Production: Legit and Jaxx Jaxx.
