In Nakamura’s absence, Mitsuaki Kanuka has been named as the replacement for voicing the characters Dr. Eggman and Mr. Dr. Eggman, while Seiya Yamanaka will be taking over the role of Dr. Done It. This adjustment will be in effect for the third season of Sonic Prime, which recently premiered on Netflix.
Kōtarō Nakamura has been the voice of Dr. Eggman in Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise in Japan since 2016, succeeding the late Chikao Ohtsuka. Apart from his iconic role as Dr. Eggman, Nakamura has contributed his voice to various video games in the Sonic series, including Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, and Team Sonic Racing.
Nakamura is recognized for his diverse voice acting roles, including providing the Japanese dub voice for Megatron in the Transformers live-action films, portraying characters like Ghader Talan in Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Kinzō Momoyama in Ginga e Kickoff!!, Oyakata Kurobe in Coppelion, and Genichirō Tazaki in Run with the Wind. Additionally, he voiced the character of Isasaka-sensei in the Sazae-san television anime from 2009 to 2020.
