Voice actors Youhei Azakami and Hitomi Oowada announced their marriage on their respective X (formerly Twitter) accounts on Monday.
“Although this is a private matter, I would like to inform you that I, Youhei Azakami, have married Ms. Hitomi Oowada,” Azakami posted on X. “The happiness I feel in my daily work and private life is thanks to everyone who supports me both near and far. I will continue to express my gratitude to those important people and work even harder.”
“I, Hitomi Oowada, would like to announce that I have married voice actor Youhei Azakami,” Oowada posted in a handwritten note on X. “I am still inexperienced, but I will continue to work hard every day to grow both as a person and actress while facing expressions directly.”
Azakami made his debut as a voice actor as Hiroshi in the Gakkatsu! television short in 2012. In 2016, he landed his first lead character role as Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma in Kuromukuro.
Azakami is known for voicing the characters Guel Jeturk in Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury), Ron Kamonohashi in Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri (Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions), Tetchou Suehiro in Bungou Stray Dogs 4th Season (Bungo Stray Dogs 4), and Ayumu Tanaka in Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?).
Oowada began her voice acting activities as Mika in Teekyuu 2 (Teekyu 2) in 2013. The following year, she acquired her first major role, starring as Midori Imai Shirobako.
Other notable roles by Oowada include Ayano Hanesaki in Hanebado!, Charlotte in Tonikaku Kawaii (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You), Sana Kashimura in Alice to Zouroku (Alice & Zoroku), and Katie Aalto in Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru (Reign of the Seven Spellblades).
