Scheduled to premiere on May 10th, Aniplex posted online the first 4 minutes of the anime film adaptation of the novel Trapezium in Kazumi Takayama. In the video we can hear the song “Nanmonai feat. With animation by the studio CloverWorks (The Promised Neverland), directed by Masahiro Shinohara (direction of episodes of Blend S, Is the order a rabbit?), Koji Masunari (storyboard for Oshi no Ko, TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You) is supervising the script for Yuuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries, Buddy Daddies), the character design is by River (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama-) and the music is by Masaru Yokoyama (Farewell, My Dear Cramer: The Movie, Fruits Basket -prelude-, Horimiya).
In the cast we have:
- Asaki Yuikawa as Yū Higashi
- Shōya Kimata as Shinji Kudō
- Teruyoshi Uchimura as Shūichi Itami.
Trapezium began to be published in Da Vinci in 2016 and ended in 2018. The novel was published physically by Kadokawa in November 2018.
The soap opera portrays the 10 years of a girl who aspires to be an idol. Yū Higashi, a high school student, aims to be an idol. To make her dream come true, she sets four rules for herself: she will not be active on social media, she will not have a boyfriend, she will not excel at school and she will make friends with beautiful girls from the north, south, east and west.
