A Arc System Works started showing this first trailer of Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulersthe first anime series based on the game series Guilty Gear which we now know will premiere in 2025.
During the Anime Expo 2024 a stage event is planned with Norimitsu Kaiho It is Seiji Mizushimathe series’ screenwriter and associate producer, respectively.
With animation by the studio Sanzigen (Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life, BBK/BRNK), directed by Shigeru Morikawa (Gekijōban Argonavis: Ryūsei no Obligato), the argument is Norimitsu Kaiho (School-Live!, Astra Lost in Space, Akudama Drive) and production was handed over to Seiji Mizushima.

After the decline of the once-robust fields of science and technology, a new energy source known as magic fuels the modern age. Humanity creates forbidden biological weapons: Gears. These Gears eventually turn against humanity in a rebellion.
Although they manage to overcome each other in the fight for survival known as the Crusades, humanity’s losses are so great that even after several decades, their emotional wounds are still unable to fully heal. Sin Kiske, the son of a human and a Gear, attends the wedding ceremony of his father Ky and his mother Dizzy. Their marriage breaks the greatest taboo: the union between a human and a Gear.
Even with the world at peace, it took many years for such a ceremony to take place. Despite the complex range of emotions surrounding it, the wedding ceremony is met with blessings. Then suddenly, a mysterious girl appears… The destined child who inherits Gear blood – and the mysterious girl who despises Gears. Their meeting would shake the world.
Guilty Gear was originally released in May 1998 for the PlayStation and Guilty Gear Strivethe latest game in the franchise was released in June 2021.
The series is known for its fast-paced style, complex mechanics, flexible combo and cancel system, anime-influenced aesthetic, and heavy metal soundtrack.
