With its premiere scheduled for April 7th, you can see the uncredited opening sequence of the anime series adaptation of the manga above. Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru (Grandpa and Grandma are Rejuvenated) by Kagiri Araido. In the video we can hear the theme “Kimi ga Ojiichan Atashi ga Obaachan” (You Are Grandpa, I Am Grandma) by Koresawa.

The anime is collaborating with its story’s setting in Inakadate Town and Hirakawa City in Aomori Prefecture. The village is known for its rice paddy art, which is also in the opening sequence. The area will feature art on its trains from the series, and the village will display rice paddy art in collaboration with the anime starting in mid-June.

The animation of Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru was delivered to the studio Gekkō (My One-Hit Kill Sister), directed by Masayoshi Nishida (Kenja no Mago, Kinsou no Vermeil, Eyeshield 21), the argument is Yukie Sugawara (Sword Art Online, Overlord, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai? Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) and the character designs are by Nagisa Takahashi (Gleipnir, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T, Temple). Music is the responsibility of Tomoki Hasegawa (Nana, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Nazo no Kanojo X).

Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru (Grandpa and Grandma are Rejuvenated) began to be published in pixiv in October 2019 and has since garnered over 100 million views. The manga was ranked 6th in the Web Manga category of the 6th “Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō” in 2020. The work has more than 1 million copies in circulation.

The history of Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru It revolves around an elderly couple who live a peaceful life in Aomori while they work picking apples in the orchards. One day, they wake up and discover that their physical age has been restored to 20 years old.
