What is the order to watch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

With the release of a new film, it could be the perfect time for those who have never seen or want to rewatch Demon Slayer to follow the correct order.

If you’re thinking about binge-watching Demon Slayer from scratch or just need to prepare for the new “To the Hashira Training” movie and season four, you’ve come to the right place.

I’ll show you the exact release sequence of Demon Slayer, resolve any questions you have. This includes: which version of Mugen Train to watch, total episodes so far, the latest on the Hashira Training arc, and how to watch the premiere episode early.

Order to Watch Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer so far has three seasons, three films that you can skip and the fourth season on the way. But don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it seems. Here is the way to follow Demon Slayer in order:

The Step-by-Step Guide to Marathoning Demon Slayer

First steps

Demon Slayer’s journey begins in 2019 with the first season, which has 26 episodes for you to watch from beginning to end.

The Complicated Sequence

After the first season, we have the film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which directly follows the events of the series. This film was so successful that it ended up becoming a TV arc in the second season.

The “Mugen Train” arc has seven episodes, followed by 11 more new episodes in the “Entertainment District” arc. This gives a total of 18 episodes for the second season.

To put it simply, our tip is to watch the first season of Demon Slayer and then choose between the Mugen Train movie or the Mugen Train TV arc (episodes 27-33). Then, just move on to the Entertainment District arc (episodes 33-44) without any problems.

The Movies: Watch or Not?

In 2023, they released the film “To the Swordsmith Village“, which is basically a combination of episodes from the “Entertainment District” arc and the beginning of the third season, known as the “Swordsmith Village” arc. We suggest skipping this movie and going straight to the TV episodes.

The third season, with 11 episodes, followed in 2023 and should be seen after “Entertainment District”.

The fourth season is coming,”Hashira Training“. The film “To the Hashira” previews this season and is available now, but you can choose to wait for its TV premiere in spring 2024.

And Movies, Are They Worth It?

Mugen Train is essential as it continues the story of the first season and introduces important characters and plots. But, watching the movie and the TV arc might be redundant, so choose one of the two.

The film “To the Swordsmith Village” is dispensable, as will “To The Hashira” once the fourth season premieres.

Can you skip an episode?

Demon Slayer doesn’t have a lot of what we call “filler” episodes. Some episodes may be slower, but they all contribute to the story. The only exception is to skip the “Mugen Train” TV arc if you’ve already watched the movie recently, and also skip the “To The Swordsmith Village” movie, as those events are covered in the third season.

How Many Episodes in Total?

So far, there are 55 episodes of Demon Slayer available. The third season adapted the “Swordsmith Village” arc with 11 episodes, and the fourth season, “Hashira Training,” is on the way for spring 2024.

So there you have it in order to watch Demon Slayer.
