Then, one day, Takaki finds out that his family is moving from Tokyo to an island in the far south of Japan, so he decides to take this last opportunity to visit Akari…

The story revolves around Kouhei Inuzuka, a teacher who after losing his wife tries his best to raise his daughter, Tsumugi. He’s very bad at cooking and doesn’t have much of an appetite to begin with, but chance brings his little family and one of his students, Kotori Iida, together for some homemade adventures.

The anime adaptation of the manga Kimi ni Todoke in Karuho Shiina premiered in October 2009 with animation by the studio Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East).

The manga follows the story of Sawako Kuronuma, a shy, pale-faced girl with long hair who is nicknamed Sadako by her classmates (the character from the horror film “Ring”), however after meeting Kazehaya and with the help of some colleagues will be able to completely change your life.

It is one of the most loved classic anime, which will definitely be a good Christmas anime with its touching story of love and hope. There is also a live-action adaptation.

Toradora! is an anime series that debuted in October 2008 with animation by the studio JCStaff.

We follow the story of Taiga Aisaka and Ryuuji Takasu, two classmates who barely know each other and live at war, until one day Taiga decides to declare his love for Yusaku Kitamura, Takasu’s best friend, by putting a letter in his backpack at the end of class, but as fate would have it, Taiga ends up misplacing it and the letter ends up in Ryuuji’s hands. When she discovers the error she becomes desperate and decides to recover the letter and, after much confusion, discovers that Ryuuji is interested in Minori Kushieda, Taiga’s best friend. The two make a truce and an agreement to help each other achieve their romantic goals.

The title Toradora! comes from the name of the two main characters in the series, Taiga Aisaka and Ryuuji Takasu. Taiga sounds like tiger (“tiger” in English), while tiger in Japanese is tora (とら). Ryuuji literally means son of the dragon and a transcription of the word dragon into Japanese is doragon (ドラゴン).

Toradora! is a comedic romance story full of unforgettable moments.

The anime film The Whisper of the Heart (Whisper of the Heart / Mimi o Sumaseba) directed by Yoshifumi Kondou at the Studio Ghibli debuted in 1995.

Shizuku is a young woman who loves reading and dreams of becoming a writer. In the summer of her senior year in high school, she spends much of her time reading or translating the lyrics of popular foreign songs into Japanese. One day Shizuku notices that Seiji Amasawa’s name is written on all the books she recently requested from the library. Somewhere, there is someone with the same reading tastes. The next day, Shizuku meets a mysterious cat who ends up guiding her to the house where Seiji Amasawa lives with his family, a family that loves music. Seiji works as an apprentice violin maker and dreams of one day traveling to Italy and becoming famous in his craft. Although their dreams may eventually take them to very different places, Shizuku and Seiji vow to be true to the strong bond that unites them.

Whisper of the Heart is another of Studio Ghibli’s many brilliant anime films. It combines slice-of-life moments with coming-of-age elements in a beautifully told story about young lovers who learn to hone their craft while longing to be together.

My Neighbor Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro is an anime film Studio Ghibli which debuted in 1988.

Totoro is a forest spirit that little Mei, and later her older sister Satsuki, find in a giant camphor tree near their new home in the countryside. Although her father, Kusakabe Tatsuo, a university professor, is with them when they move, her mother, Yasuko, is in the hospital, recovering from an unidentified illness. When Mei learns that her mother’s condition may be getting worse, she decides to visit her alone. When everyone realizes she’s missing, only Totoro knows how to find her!

The film explores aspects of animism and closeness to nature as a whole, while also involving themes such as fear of loss and childhood confusion. My Neighbor Totoro, with its whimsical narrative and throwback theme, is definitely a great Christmas anime movie for kids.

The anime film Tokyo Godfathers / Tokyo godparents directed by Satoshi Kon (Perflect Blue, Tokyo God Fathers, Millennium Actress, Paprika) and animated by the studio Madhouse debuted in 20003.

Alcoholic Gin, runaway teenager Miyuk and former drag queen Hana form a trio living on the streets of Tokyo, pretending to be a family. On Christmas Eve, they find a baby abandoned in a trash can. With just a few clues, the three walk the city streets trying to find the child’s parents.

It is without a doubt one of the best Christmas films ever made, which has gained a cult following since its release.

Wolf Children is an anime film that premiered in 2012 with animation by Studio Chizu.

The story, which spans 13 years, follows a 19-year-old girl named Hana who, like in a fairy tale, falls in love with a “wolf man” who she marries and has two children. The oldest is called Yuki (“snow”) because she was born on a snowy day and the youngest is called Ame (“rain”) because she was born on a rainy day.

This family lives on the outskirts of the city to try to hide the “wolf children”, however the “wolf man” suddenly dies and Hana chooses to move away from the city.

Wolf Children is a film about parental love and letting children find their own paths as they are set free. Coming from talented director and animator Mamoru Hosoda, the film features an unconventional family as the children learn their place in the world.

The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya

The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya is an anime film that premiered in February 2010 with animation by the studio Kyoto Animation.

It’s mid-December and the head of the SOS Brigade, Suzumiya Haruhi, announces that the brigade will hold a Christmas party in the club room, with Japanese stew for dinner. Kyon, Nagato Yuki, Asahina Mikuru and Koizumi Itsuki start preparing everything for the party, such as costumes and decorations. But a few days later, Kyon arrives at school and discovers that Haruhi is missing. Not only that, but Mikuru claims that she has never met Kyon before, Koizumi is also missing and Yuki has become the only member of the literature club. The SOS Brigade appears to have never existed, nor did Suzumiya Haruhi. No one at school has heard of her…except Kyon.

The enigmatic anime tale is filled with suspense, romance, and small heartwarming moments that certainly make it a good Christmas anime.
