Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Anime Announced for 2025
Kamitsubaki Studio, the creative group behind popular virtual artists, has revealed plans for a new anime series based on its original project Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. The announcement was made during the Kamitsubaki Yoyogi Wars 2024 event on January 13, 2024.
Kamitsubaki City Under Construction is a mixed-media project that started in 2019, aiming to create a virtual city where users can explore, interact, and create. With a community of over 20,000 users, the project includes alternative reality games, tabletop RPGs, video games, and features songs and videos by the virtual artist group VWP (Virtual Witch Phenomenon).
The anime series will follow the story of the project, exploring the mysteries hidden in the virtual city of Kamitsubaki. The city is in chaos and decay, corrupted by a mysterious force called “Q”. Citizens, the users, must work together to restore order and peace while uncovering the secrets behind the city’s origin and purpose.
The anime will be produced by domerica, the studio behind Burning Kabaddi and Flying Witch Petit. The director is Kazuya Ichikawa, known for Bakugan and Monster Strike the Animation, with scriptwriter Kenichi Suemitsu (Welcome to the Ballroom, Delico’s Nursery), character designer Mari Takada (Bakugan, Monster Strike the Animation), and music composer Ryūnosuke Kasai (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life, Fluffy Paradise, Love After World Domination).
The voice cast will feature the members of VWP as the main characters:

- Yuuki Tai as Sōza Samonji
- Daisuke Sakaguchi as Fudō Yukimitsu
- Tarusuke Shingaki as Heshikiri Hasebe
- Seiichirō Yamashita as Yagen Tōshirō
Kamitsubaki City Under Construction is an innovative project combining music, anime, games, and RPGs. Users can join the virtual city, and the anime promises to deliver a unique and exciting experience. The series is set to premiere in 2025.
