Editor's Review
The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie

The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie is a comedy anime that premiered in May 2022. It is based on a popular manga series of the same name, and it is the sequel to the two-season TV anime that aired in 2019 and 2020. It follows the story of Fuutarou Uesugi, a high school student who works as a tutor for five identical quintuplet sisters who are all in love with him. The movie adapts the final arc of the manga, where Fuutarou has to choose one of the sisters as his bride at the school festival, while also revealing the identity of the mysterious girl he met five years ago.

The movie is a satisfying and emotional conclusion to the series, with a lot of humor and romance. The main appeal of the movie is the development of the characters and their relationships, as they face their feelings and their futures. Fuutarou is a smart and diligent boy who cares deeply for the sisters, but also struggles with his own insecurities and doubts. The sisters are all unique and charming, with different personalities and interests, but also share a strong bond and a common goal. They are Ichika, the eldest and the actress; Nino, the second and the tsundere; Miku, the third and the history buff; Yotsuba, the fourth and the energetic one; and Itsuki, the fifth and the glutton.

The animation and music of the movie are excellent, with a high-quality production and a catchy soundtrack. The character designs are faithful and expressive, and the backgrounds are rich and immersive. The voice acting is also superb, with the actors delivering their lines with emotion and nuance. The opening and ending songs are catchy and upbeat, and they fit the tone of the movie.

The movie is not very original or complex, and it does not have a lot of action or suspense. It is mostly a slice-of-life comedy with some drama and romance, and it focuses on the final moments of the school festival and the confession of Fuutarou. Some of the jokes and situations are cliché and predictable, and some of the fanservice scenes are excessive and unnecessary. The movie also does not explain much of the backstory or the mystery of the girl from five years ago, and it leaves some questions unanswered.

Overall, The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie is an enjoyable and touching anime that offers a lot of laughs and tears. It is a great adaptation of the manga and a fitting end to the series, and it will please the fans of the franchise. It is not a masterpiece or a must-watch, but it is a good option for those who like comedy anime with a bit of drama and romance. It is a movie that celebrates the love and happiness of choosing and being chosen by someone special.
