The Last Summoner

“The Last Summoner” is an anime series that aired in 2022, which is adapted from a Chinese manhua of the same name. The story revolves around a young boy named Ah Jie, who is an exceptional cook. His culinary skills are so impressive that they attract a goddess, pulling him into the world of summoners. As he delves deeper into this world, he uncovers the secret behind his parents’ mysterious disappearance and encounters various summoners, making both allies and enemies.

The series starts with an explanation of what a summoner is in their universe – beings that could summon souls as their familiars. Ah Jie’s ordinary life takes a turn when he accidentally summons a beautiful pink-haired goddess named Dora with his cooking. The series then follows Ah Jie’s journey as he navigates his new life as a summoner.

One of the unique aspects of “The Last Summoner” is its focus on cooking. Ah Jie’s passion for cooking and his belief in the power of good food to attract even gods add a unique flavor to the series. The series also does a commendable job of portraying Ah Jie’s character development as he transitions from a simple cook to a summoner.

However, the series has received mixed reviews. Some viewers have found the animation and fight scenes decent but not extraordinary. The characters could have been better developed, and the plot sometimes lacks depth. Despite these criticisms, the series has been praised for its unique premise and engaging storyline.

In conclusion, “The Last Summoner” offers an intriguing blend of cooking and fantasy elements. While it may not be perfect, it provides an entertaining viewing experience with its unique storyline and interesting characters. Whether you’re a fan of cooking shows or fantasy anime, “The Last Summoner” is worth checking out.
