With this promotional image, the official twitter of the anime series adaptation of the manga SHY written and illustrated by Bukimi Miki announced that the premiere will take place in the 2024 Summer Anime Season (July-September).
Two additions to the cast were also revealed:
- Kotori Koiwai like Ai Tennoji.
- Hitomi Ueda like Utsuro.
The animation for the anime series that premiered in October 2023 was delivered to the studio 8-Bit (Blue Lock, Encouragement of Climb) and the direction is by Masaomi Ando (Astra Lost in Space, Scum’s Wish, School-Live!).
In the cast we have:
- Shino Shimoji (Aikatsu!, Hakumei and Mikochi) as Teru Momijiyama.
- Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki Sakata in Gintama) as Ebio (Shrimpy)
- Nao Toyama (Ruka Sarashina in Rent-a-Girlfriend) as Iko Koishikawa
- Mamiko Noto (Haira in Otaku Elf) as Spirit
- Shinichiro Miki (Kisuke Urahara in Bleach) as Stardust
- Sayumi Suzushiro (Kei Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) as Lady Black
- Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!!) as Mian Long
- Kikuko Inoue (Shuko Komi in Komi Can’t Communicate) as Unilord
SHY began to be published in Weekly Shonen Champion in August 2019. This is the debut work by Bukimi Miki like mangaka.
Synopsis of SHY
Just as the planet was approaching its third world war, super-powered individuals from around the world appeared to keep the peace. They became the symbols of their respective nations, fighting to limit crime and bring evildoers to justice. Teru “Shy” Momijiyama is Japan’s representative in the world of heroes. When a mysterious threat called Amalareiks emerges, Shy must team up with his fellow heroes to stop them at all costs.
