Toyota announces GRIP racing anime series

A Toyota announced GRIPits own racing anime series that will consist of 5 episodes and of course highlight some of the cars manufactured by Toyota. You can see a trailer above.

Scheduled to premiere on February 26, 2024, the production is by Intertrend it’s from Frank Mele with Jae Woo Kim (Blood of Zeus, Tron: Uprising, Ben10 Omniverse) to oversee the direction.

In the description of GRIP we can read:

GRIP is an original high-octane anime series that combines thrilling action, adrenaline-pumping racing, and a battle between the human spirit and computer control. With their GR vehicles and unwavering determination, the GRIP team is the last hope for the driving spirit.

Following its main character, Jae Kang and his GR Corolla, the series takes place in a futuristic world controlled by a large corporation known as Synthcorp. Kang and his team need to take them down.

Intertrend’s Executive Director of Strategy/Creative, Matthew Choy, stated:

We were inspired to tell a story that went beyond the product and used narratives we see around us in American culture. This series is not just for anime lovers and nerds, but also for anyone interested in watching an exciting story unfold.
